Fresh Solanaceous fruit for human consumption

Effective from 16 March 2021

The final import risk analysis report for fresh greenhouse-grown capsicum (paprika) fruit from the Republic of Korea recommends that the importation of fresh capsicum (Capsicum annuum) fruit into Australia from registered export greenhouses in the Republic of Korea be permitted, subject to specific quarantine conditions.

Capsicum, paprika, pepper and chilies are common names for the fruit in this genus.

To clarify that all fruit of Capsicum annuum can be imported, we have removed specific references to common names i.e., capsicum.

Import conditions have not changed.
