Plant species requiring further assessment

Effective from 30 July 2020

The following species have been added to the 'Plant species that require further assessment’ BICON case:

  • Decarya madagascariensis

  • Hypochaeris hookeri

  • Jasione crispa

  • Kalimeris mongolica

  • Tetraneuris acaulis

  • Tetraneuris argentea

  • Tetraneuris scaposa

  • Tetraneuris torreyana

  • Veronica wormskjoldii

  • Zephyranthes morrisclintii

There is insufficient information available for the department to determine the weed risk potential of these species. Therefore, these species are not permitted entry into Australian territory.

The department can continue evaluating the weed risks posed by these species on request from stakeholders, but will require additional information being available to support further assessments.

Who does this notice affect:

Stakeholders interested in importing the above species as seed for sowing and nursery stock, as well as departmental staff.
