Tamarind for human consumption

Effective from 5 September 2017

What has changed?
The tamarind for human consumption case structure as been changed to make it clearer which tamarind products are not permitted to be imported and those that require inspection and mandatory treatment on arrival or inspection only.

Fresh whole fruit (ripened or immature pods) is not permitted to be imported.

Dried whole fruit (Dried ripened or immature pods) requires inspection and mandatory dry heat treatment on arrival.

All other tamarind products (pulp with or without seed) require inspection on arrival only unless BRM is found.
