Changes

Following an administrative review of conditions, departmental officers, importers and industry are advised of the following amendments to conditions for the import of household pet birds from New Zealand:

• Clarification that only psittacine species can be imported under these conditions.
  

• Addition of a post-arrival condition to address the management of waste during post-arrival quarantine.
  

• Clarification of the procedure for private veterinarian examinations during pre-entry quarantine and post-arrival quarantine.

Importers of pet birds from New Zealand, Veterinary and Export Meat Group, Assessment Services Group, Inspections Group.
