Changes

Plant Imports have added some wording on the labelling requirements to clarify that ‘Lot’ number, refers to produce within a consignment, specific to a registered grower. Each Lot number must be detailed on the phytosanitary certificate.

i.e:

The following information is required to be printed on each citrus package:

1. Product of Egypt for Australia
2. Name or trademark of the exporter
3. Variety
4. Lot number (based on registered grower list).

Who does this notice affect:

This notice affects importers of fresh oranges, limes, lemons, mandarins and tangerines, grapefruit and sweetie fruit from Egypt, brokers and Inspections Group.
