Vitis spp. (grape) seed for sowing

Effective from 19 June 2019

The approved source pathway for Vitis spp. seed for sowing has been removed.

Importers may still source seed from Foundation Plant Services, however all imports will be subject to visual screening and pathogen testing while in post-entry quarantine at the government facility in Mickleham, Victoria.

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of Vitis spp. seed for sowing from Foundation Plant Services at the University of California.

Background:
Foundation Plant Services at the University of California have advised the Department of Agriculture that they will no longer supply material to Australia as a department approved high health source.
