Timber and timber products

Effective from 21 December 2020

Importers should note that the Canadian Green Sawn Wood Certification Program (CGSWCP) has been modified and renamed as the ‘Canadian Sawn Wood Certification Program’ (CSWCP).

Who does this notice affect:
Importers of Canadian sawn wood and Inspection Services Group.

Background:
The modification has widened the program from green sawn wood only to now incorporate both green sawn wood and sawn wood that has been kiln dried at a low temperature (less than 56 degrees Celsius). Goods produced through the program will need be accompanied by a CSWCP certificate. Goods exported prior to the 21 December 2020, with old CGSWCP certificates will continue to be accepted.

Relevant import conditions pages in BICON have been updated to reflect the change in program name. Import conditions for goods produced through the program to clear biosecurity control have not changed.
