Examples of permitted processing methods*

Chicory (Cichorium spp.) endive or witloof roots

Roasted, roasted and ground

Garlic (Allium sativum)

Peeled, peeled and diced, peeled and sliced, peeled and minced

Ginger (Zingiber officinale)

Peeled and dried, pickled or otherwise preserved

Horseradish (Armoracia rusticana)

Peeled and minced

Onions (Allium cepa)

Peeled, peeled and diced, peeled and sliced

Note: The department may approve processing methods other than those described above through the import permit assessment process. The approved processing methods will be listed in the import permit.
