Low risk genetic material (including low risk vectors)

Effective 2 December 2015 to 25 February 2016

Low risk genetic material (including low risk vectors)

  1. Purified genetic material from multicellular organisms (excluding plants).

  2. Purified cloning vectors and expression systems, including plasmid vectors, cosmid vectors, bacterial artificial chromosomes, yeast artificial chromosomes or bacteriophages, not coding for virulence factors. These vectors and expression systems may be imported “empty” or may contain transgenes (the specific gene of interest) from multicellular organisms (excluding plants and fungi).

Note: This definition does not include cloning vectors or expression systems that contain transgenes derived from microorganisms (including viruses).
