Definition:

A ‘diagnostic test/research kit' is defined as an instrument used to establish or confirm a diagnosis/detection/measurement.

This can include the diagnosis of a particular disease OR a particular characteristic. The ‘diagnostic test/diagnostic test kit’ definition:

  1. Is not restricted to medical diagnosis and also includes diagnosis in all research (not only medical).

  2. Includes the diagnosis/detection/measurement of all matter including humans, animal, the environment and synthetic material.

  3. Includes kit reagents, standards and calibrators. These can be imported independently of the kit if required. Relevant documentation will need to accompany the consignment.
