End of BPL season for timber imports from New Zealand

Effective from 4 May 2018

The Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI NZ) has advised the department that the 2017-2018 flight season of the Burnt Pine Longicorn (BPL) beetle has ended for all New Zealand ports as of 24:00 hours (NZST) on 1/05/2018

Consignments loaded onto vessels and consignments loaded and sealed into containers after 24:00 hours (NZST) on 1/05/2018 are not required to meet import conditions for importing during BPL flight season.

Affected timber commodities from New Zealand include:

Break bulk and containerised

Break bulk only

Unfinished timber

Plywood and veneer sheeting

Round wood


Logs

 

Oversize timber not for processing
