  • Retorted meat products containing beef

  • Retorted meat products excluding beef

  • Canned or retorted dairy products

  • Retorted birds nest products

  • Canned or retorted avian egg products

  • Retorted insects

How long will I be able to import under the previous import conditions for retorted goods?

Until 1:00 am AEST Monday 26 February 2018 the previous import conditions for retorted goods will be applied to clear goods.

From 1:00 am AEST Monday 26 February 2018 the new import conditions must be met and the old conditions will be suspended.

What if I cannot obtain a health certificate that meets the new import conditions by the 26th of February 2018?

Please notify the department prior to 26 February 2018. The department will continue to work with industry and partner authorities overseas to ensure that biosecurity risks are managed, while not unnecessarily disrupting trade.
