Addition of class 1 and class 2.2. Approved Arrangement (AA) sites for inspection of tissue cultures

Effective from 7 August 2017

Who does this change effect?
Importers of tissue cultures that do not require post-entry quarantine growth.

What is the change?
The department has reviewed the inspection requirements for tissue culture and determined that tissue cultures that do not require post-entry quarantine growth may now be inspected at class 1 and class 2.2 Approved Arrangements (AA) sites.

What does this mean for my imports?
Existing permit holders wishing to have their eligible tissue cultures inspected at a class 1 and/or class 2.2 AA sites must apply to have their permits varied. Holders must apply for the variation through BICON noting in the variation reason that it is for tissue culture to be inspected at an AA site class 1 or class 2.2.

All new permits issued for tissue cultures that do not require post-entry quarantine growth will include these new inspection sites.
