End of BPL season for timber imports from New Zealand

Effective from 20 April 2017

The Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI NZ) has advised the department that the 2016-2017 flight season of the Burnt Pine Longicorn (BPL) beetle has ended for all New Zealand ports as of 24:00 hours (NZST) on 19/04/2017.

Consignments loaded onto vessels and consignments loaded and sealed into containers after 24:00 hours (NZST) on 19/04/17 are not required to meet import conditions for importing during BPL flight season.

Affected timber commodities from New Zealand include:

Break bulk and containerised

Break bulk only

Unfinished timber

Plywood and veneer sheeting

Round wood


Logs


Oversize timber not for processing
