Changes to import requirements for Arachis spp. seed for sowing

Effective from 21 January 2017

This notice provides clients of the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources notification of changes to import requirements for Arachis species seed for sowing.


What is the change?

Plants grown in PEQ must be PCR tested for peanut stripe potyvirus (PStV). Up to 5 plants from the same line can be pooled into one sample for testing.


What does this mean for my imports?

Consignments that land in Australia from 20 January 2017 must be PCR tested for PStV during growth in PEQ.
