Revised import conditions for Apricots and interspecific stone fruit hybrids from the USA to take effect 30 June 2017.


Who does this notice affect?


Importers of apricots and interspecific stone fruit hybrids, customs brokers and regional officers.


What is changing?


From 30 June 2017 apricots and interspecific stone fruit hybrids from the United States of America will not require an import permit if importers can meet the import conditions published in BICON.


No other changes have been made to the import conditions.


Background


The Biosecurity (Prohibited and Conditionally Non-Prohibited Goods) Determination 2016 is currently under amendment. As a result, from 30 June 2017 certain commodities will no longer require an import permit when the specified alternative conditions are met.
