Import conditions for fresh mangoes from Viet Nam

Regional officers, importers and brokers are advised that conditions for importing fresh mango fruit from Viet Nam for human consumption are now available on the Biosecurity Import Conditions database (BICON). The release of import conditions follows the finalisation of the “Final report for the non-regulated analysis of existing policy for fresh mango fruit from Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam” (http://www.agriculture.gov.au/biosecurity/risk-analysis/memos/ba2015-20) on 26 November 2015.

It is the importer’s responsibility to identify and to ensure it has complied with, all requirements of any other regulatory and advisory bodies prior to and after importation.

Each consignment must be accompanied by a valid import permit and an official government phytosanitary certificate.

Importers are reminded that an import permit must be obtained prior to importation.
