Effective from 27 May 2016Please note: Under the new Biosecurity Act 2015 being implemented on 16 June 2016, one or more commodities within this case will no longer require an import permit, when specified conditions are met.
To determine whether these changes affect your commodity, search BICON and refer to the import conditions related to your import scenario. Importers may choose to delay importing impacted commodities until after 16 June 2016 to avoid having to obtain import permits.
The Biosecurity (Prohibited and Conditionally Non-Prohibited Goods) Determination 2016 sets out either the specific risk management measures or what must be achieved through these measures post 16 June 2016. BICON will remain the primary source of information on biosecurity import conditions.
