Xylella emergency conditions for nursery stock
Effective from 19 November 2015IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL CLIENTS
The import conditions contained in this BICON case are in the process of being updated to include the announced emergency quarantine measures for Xylella that will impact nursery stock and tissue cultures.
Before applying for an import permit:
please ensure that you are familiar with the alert content (accessible at: https://bicon.agriculture.gov.au/BiconWeb4.0/ViewElement/Element/Alert?elementPk=310100).
please note that timeframes for permit issuance for plant species in this BICON case may exceed 20 business working days as a result of the changes required to import permit conditions. It is fully anticipated that once this BICON case has been updated to reflect the revised import conditions, permit issuance timeframes will return to 10-20 working days.
This notice will be removed when the BICON case has been updated with the revised import conditions.
This Alert applies to the following Cases:
- Cucurbits as nursery stock requiring testing
- Forestry or amenity species that may be sensitive to methyl bromide
- Plants of forestry or amenity significance for use as nursery stock
- Phoenix dactylifera for use as nursery stock
- Saccharum spp. as nursery stock
- Chamaecyparis spp. for use as nursery stock
- Tropical fruit for use as nursery stock which are Sudden Oak Death hosts
- Pseudotsuga spp. for use as nursery stock
- Pomegranate for use as nursery stock
- Pinus spp. for use as nursery stock
- Cupressus spp. for use as nursery stock
- Hoya kerrii rooted leaves as nursery stock
- Brassica oleracea for use as nursery stock
- Bulbs for use as nursery stock grown in open quarantine
- Allium porrum for use as nursery stock
- Ranunculus spp. for use as nursery stock
- Carnations for use as nursery stock
- Methyl bromide sensitive nursery stock
- Allium sativum for use as nursery stock
- Chrysanthemum x morifolium for use as nursery stock
- Forestry or amenity species that are hosts of Sudden Oak Death
- Camellia spp. for use as nursery stock
- Dracaena sanderiana for use as nursery stock
- Aquatic plants for use as nursery stock

- Xylella fastidiosa hosts as forestry or amenity species
