Upcoming changes to the 'Dog semen' BICON case
Effective from 7 March 2025The BICON case for dog semen will be redesigned to assist users understand the import conditions which must be met to import dog semen into Australia. The model veterinary health certificate will also be updated on the department’s website, and a link to this certificate will be available through the BICON Case. It is anticipated that this work will be complete by the end of March 2025.
There will be no changes to the import conditions.
Importers are advised that the department will continue to accept the current model veterinary health certificate for clearance of semen imports prepared and certified prior to the 31st of March 2025.
Who does this notice affect:
Importers who intend to import dog semen into Australia, and officers who assess documentation to support the importation of these animals.
