End of BPL season for timber imports from New Zealand
Effective from 13 April 2023The Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI NZ) has advised the Department that the 2022-2023 flight season of the Burnt Pine Longicorn (BPL) beetle has concluded for all New Zealand ports as of 14 April 2023.
Consignments loaded onto vessels prior to Friday 14 April 2023 are still required to meet import conditions for importing during BPL flight season.
Affected commodities from New Zealand include:
Break bulk and containerised |
Break bulk only |
Unfinished timber |
Plywood |
Round wood |
Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) |
Logs |
Veneer sheeting |
Oversize timber not for processing |
