Reminder to submit a Notice of Importation (NOI) form when importing high risk nursery stock
Effective from 16 November 2022The department has been made aware that importers and/or their brokers are not submitting the required Notice of Importation (NOI) for consignments of plant material being sent to the Commonwealth facility at Mickleham, Victoria. This NOI is a requirement of import that must be met, as outlined in the permit conditions.
The purpose of the NOI is to alert Mickleham to the arriving goods so that they can ensure sufficient staffing numbers for receival and inspection, as well as for coordinating their propagation schedules. Failure to submit an NOI may result in a delayed processing of the consignment.
A completed Notice of Importation (NOI) form must be sent directly to the Mickleham facility for each consignment using the updated facility email address PEQplants@agriculture.gov.au. The form must be emailed at least seven working days prior to the arrival of the consignment.
