The department has recently published a webpage for importers seeking to import test kits for foot and mouth disease and other notifiable animal diseases. These test kits are subject to additional regulations and restrictions under state and territory government legislation.

Importers should be aware of relevant legislation as it may restrict testing for notifiable animal diseases to certain persons and/or within certain accredited diagnostic laboratories. The FAQs webpage can be found here.
