Commencement of BPL Season 2022-2023
Effective from 18 November 2022The Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI NZ) has advised the department that the 2022-2023 flight season of the Burnt Pine Longicorn (BPL) beetle begins for all New Zealand ports as of 00:01 hours (NZST) at the start of Saturday 19 November 2022 .
Consignments loaded onto vessels and sealed into containers prior to 00:01 hours (NZST) at the start of Saturday 19 November 2022 are not required to meet import conditions for importing during BPL flight season.
Affected commodities for New Zealand include:
Break bulk and containerised |
Break bulk only |
Unfinished timber |
Plywood |
Round wood |
Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) |
Logs |
Veneer sheeting |
Oversize timber not for processing |
