Notice for fresh, frozen, dried and powdered giant taro (Alocasia macrorrhiza) for human consumption
Effective from 30 August 2022The department will publish a warning and information notice highlighting the prohibition of giant taro (Alocasia macrorrhiza) under Schedule 23 in the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code). These plants, plant products, and derivatives of these plants cannot be imported as food for sale in any form under the Code.
Who does this notice affect:
Importers of fresh, frozen, dried and powdered giant taro for human consumption from all countries, brokers, and Pathway Operations Cargo – Assessment and Inspections.
