Updated requirements have been added to the door ajar condition
Effective from 17 January 2022The department will publish updated requirements for cases linked to the ‘door ajar’ condition within BICON.
The general door ajar condition, which allows select perishables to be vented during transport, now includes a requirement that all cartons or pallets must be securely packaged according to one of the departments options.

This notice affects importers, Brokers, Pathway Operations Cargo – Assessment and Inspections.

- Fresh produce for processing at a department approved arrangement site
- Fresh Cucurbits for human consumption
- Fresh Allium spp. for human consumption
- Fresh root vegetables for human consumption
- Mushrooms for propagation
- Mushrooms for human consumption
