Suspension of the BICON case for cake mixes from the 3rd of November 2022
Effective from 4 August 2022The department has reviewed the BICON case for cake mixes for human consumption and made the decision to remove this commodity case from the system as of the 3rd of November 2022.
Cake mixes are often comprised of a range of ingredients and importers are advised to search BICON and determine the most applicable case/s for each individual ingredient. The following BICON cases may be applicable to the ingredients in cake mixes:
- Animal based flavours or floss
- Cocoa powder, cocoa butter, cocoa cake and cocoa liquor
- Cooked items (biscuits, breads, pastries, cakes), mooncakes, egg waffles and uncooked cheesecakes
- Dairy
- Egg and egg products for human consumption
- Gelatine
- Highly refined organic chemicals and substances
- Microalgae
- Processed grain and seed products for human consumption
- Starter cultures (and their derivatives)
Who does this notice affect:
Assessment Services Group and importers of cake mixes for human consumption.
