Clarification of dating of government certification for salmonid fish products

Effective from 6 July 2022

The department is clarifying the dating requirements for some government certificates for salmonid fish products that are sourced in an approved country but exported from a different approved country.

  • The certificate from the source country does not need to be dated within 6 months prior to the goods arriving in Australia.
  • The certificate from the country of export must be dated within 6 months prior to the goods arriving in Australia, in line with the Minimum documentary and import declaration requirements policy.
  • The onshore outcomes are being updated accordingly to minimise issues with future imports.
  • The permit case is being amended so that it is clear in the import conditions of future permits.
