Changes to the List of Overseas Authorities – Aquatic Animals for Import
Effective from 29 June 2022The department has conducted a review of the authorities listed on the List of Overseas Authorities - Aquatic Animals of Import and updated the list to more accurately reflect authority’s names.
This list is referenced both on active permits and in several BICON import pathways for goods which can be imported into Australia without a biosecurity import permit.
This change is not anticipated to have any negative impact on the clearance of imported goods.
Who does this alert affect:
Departmental staff and importers of goods which must be certified by an authority on this list.

This Alert applies to the following Cases:
- Prawns
- Salmonid fish for human consumption
- Aquaculture feed and aquatic meals
- Finfish (excluding Salmonid) for human consumption
- Fish viscera and fish oil
- Bony fish and cephalopods for bait or fish food
- Seafood (excluding finfish) for human consumption
- Baits, lures, attractants and poisons for agricultural or domestic use
- Pet fish food
