Decommissioning AQIS Commodity Codes on 17 plant pathways to improve the CBIS lodgement process
Effective from 2 March 2022From 2 March 2022, the department will be decommissioning 17 AQIS commodity codes (ACC) in the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) and the Agriculture Import Management System (AIMS) to improve the Compliance-Based Intervention Scheme (CBIS) lodgement process. The 17 codes will be replaced with a profile question that is unique to each plant pathway.
What does this mean for my imports?
You will no longer be required to apply an AQIS Commodity Code (ACC) on most import pathways to qualify for CBIS. The changes apply to the following pathways:
- Fresh cherries of the species Prunus avium from New Zealand only
- Fresh cherries of the species Prunus avium from the USA only
- Dried dates, including permitted Ziziphus species from all countries
- Fresh dates of the species Phoenix dactylifera from the USA only
- Fresh immature coconuts from all countries
- Fresh immature corn from all countries
- Fresh lemons and limes from the USA only
- Fresh mature coconuts with the husk removed or in the form of a prayer unit from all countries
- Fresh/chilled mushrooms of the permitted species only from all countries
- Fresh oranges from the USA only
- Dried mushrooms of the permitted species only from all countries
- Dried truffles of the permitted species only from all countries
- Fresh stone fruits including apricots, nectarines, peaches, plumcots, plums, pluots or prunes from New Zealand only
- Fresh stone fruits of the permitted species, including apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums or approved interspecific stone fruit hybrids from the USA only
- Fresh pomegranates from the USA only
- Sphagnum peat with or without approved additives from countries free from foot and mouth disease (FMD)
- Fresh/chilled truffles of the permitted species only from all countries.
Who does this case alert affect:
All importers and their agents importing CBIS eligible commodities.
