The department has previously published the import requirements for fresh strawberries from the Republic of Korea – Seasonal pest free place of production (non-secure production sites).

This case alert is to remind importers an import permit, specifically for the seasonal pest free place of production (non-secure production sites) pathway, is required in order to import strawberries under this protocol.
Import permits granted for fresh strawberries from the Republic of Korea using offshore methyl bromide fumigation are NOT VALID for strawberries exported under the seasonal pest free place of production protocols.

Goods arriving with an invalid permit may be subject to export or disposal.
