New approved ISTA laboratory for seed purity analysis - Official Seed Testing Station NIAB

Effective from 7 September 2021

The department has approved a new laboratory to perform seed purity analysis on seed being imported into Australia. The list of department approved seed testing laboratories has been updated to include the following laboratory:

Official Seed Testing Station for England and Wales NIAB	Barn 1, Park Farm, Villa Road, Impington, Cambridge, CB24 9NZ	United Kingdom	ISTA

Import permits:
Seed species that require an import permit:

Existing import permits will not be varied to include the new laboratory, unless specifically requested by an import permit holder.
All new permits will be issued with the new laboratory included.

Seed species that do not require an import permit:

Certificates issued by the above laboratory will be accepted by the department immediately.

Importers and brokers of seed for sowing, importers and brokers of seed for human consumption, Client Contact Group and Pathway Operations Cargo – Assessment and/or Inspections.
