Upcoming changes to the import conditions for fresh garlic bulbs for human consumption

Effective from 26 November 2021

The department will publish changes on 10 December 2021 to the import conditions for garlic bulbs for human consumption from all countries.

A re-export phytosanitary certificate will be required for any consignment transhipped through another country on the way to Australia. Transhipped goods will require treatment on arrival, with methyl bromide fumigation, at the approved schedule.

If a re-export phytosanitary certificate is not provided, the goods will be subject to export or disposal.
