Secure packaging options for whole fresh avocado from Chile have been updated to reflect the biosecurity risks associated with Drosophila suzukii. This change brings the secure packaging requirements in line with advice given in the Drosophila suzukii pest risk analysis.

Changes have been made to the following secure packaging options:

• ventilation holes of cartons covered: from 0.98mm allowable pore size to 1.6mm pore size
  

• meshed or shrink wrapped pallets: from 0.98mm allowable pore size to 1.6mm pore size.
