End of BPL season for timber imports from New Zealand

Effective from 1 April 2021

The Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI NZ) has advised the Department that the 2020-2021 flight season of the Burnt Pine Longicorn (BPL) beetle has concluded for all New Zealand ports as of 31 March 2021.

Consignments loaded onto vessels prior to 1 April 2021 are still required to meet import conditions for importing during BPL flight season.

Affected commodities from New Zealand include:

Break bulk and containerised

Break bulk only

Unfinished Timber

Plywood

Round Wood

Laminated veneer lumber (LVL)

Logs

Veneer sheeting

Oversize timber not for processing
