End of BPL season for timber imports from New Zealand
Effective from 1 April 2021The Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI NZ) has advised the Department that the 2020-2021 flight season of the Burnt Pine Longicorn (BPL) beetle has concluded for all New Zealand ports as of 31 March 2021.
Consignments loaded onto vessels prior to 1 April 2021 are still required to meet import conditions for importing during BPL flight season.
Affected commodities from New Zealand include:

Unfinished Timber |
Plywood |
Round Wood |
Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) |
Logs |
Veneer sheeting |
Oversize timber not for processing |
