Commencement of BPL season 2020-2021
Effective from 23 November 2020The Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI NZ) has advised the department that the 2020-2021 flight season of the Burnt Pine Longicorn (BPL) beetle begins for all New Zealand ports as of 24:00 hours (NZST) on Monday 23 November 2020.
Consignments loaded onto vessels and sealed into containers prior to 24:00 hours (NZST) on Monday 23 November 2020 are not required to meet import conditions for importing during BPL flight season.
Affected commodities from New Zealand include:

Break bulk only |
Unfinished timber |
Plywood |
Round wood |
Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) |
Logs |
Veneer sheeting |
Oversize timber not for processing |
