New approved offshore ISTA laboratories for seed purity analysis
Effective from 12 December 2020The department has approved two new laboratories to perform seed purity analysis on seed being imported into Australia. The list of department approved seed testing laboratories has been updated to include the following laboratories:

Import permits:
Seed species that require an import permit:
- Existing import permits will not be varied to include the new laboratories, unless specifically requested by an import permit holder.
- All new permits will be issued with the new laboratories included.
Seed species that do not require an import permit:
- Certificates issued by the above laboratories will be accepted by the department immediately.
Who does this notice affect:
Importers of seed for sowing, importers of seed for human consumption, their brokers, Client Contact Group and Inspections Group.
