Update to import conditions for beef and beef products from Vanuatu

Effective from 14 October 2020

The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (the department) completed a review of biosecurity import conditions for fresh (chilled or frozen) beef and beef products from Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the United States and Vanuatu in 2017.

Vanuatu is currently being assessed by the department to verify it can meet the risk management measures recommended by the review.

Entry of unretorted beef and beef products from Vanuatu will not be permitted until the department has finalised this assessment.

Importers and retailers of unretorted beef and beef meat products from Vanuatu.
