The department is currently accepting applications for the import of Canadian pig meat, cooked in, and exported from, New Zealand.

Although a BICON pathway is yet to be developed for these goods, prospective importers can submit an application via the following pathway:

Pig meat — Other — Country of origin is Canada — Cooked — Non-standard permit application

Importers must ensure that the application clearly states that the goods will be sourced from Canada and exported from New Zealand, so that the appropriate conditions can be applied.

Importers of cooked pig meat and Assessment and Client Contact Group.
