End of BPL season for timber imports from New Zealand

Effective from 17 April 2020

The Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI NZ) has advised the Department that the 2019-2020 flight season of the Burnt Pine Longicorn (BPL) beetle has ended for all New Zealand ports as of 24:00 hours (NZST) on Friday 17 April 2020.

Consignments loaded onto vessels and sealed into containers after 24:00 hours (NZST) on Friday 17 April 2020 are not required to meet import conditions for importing during BPL flight season.

Affected commodities from New Zealand include:

Break bulk and containerised

Break bulk only

Unfinished Timber

Plywood

Round Wood

Laminated veneer lumber (LVL)

Logs

Veneer sheeting

Oversize timber not for processing
