Import conditions for fresh dates from Israel to be published by 24 July 2020

Effective from 10 July 2020

The department will publish import conditions for fresh date fruit from Israel. The import conditions apply to loose fresh dates (single fruit) with a moisture content above 30 per cent, with skin, flesh and seeds, including a cap and a small portion of stem. Multiple fruits must not be attached to the same portion of stem.

The import conditions are developed based on the standard commercial production practices and packing procedures as described in the Final Report for the review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh dates from the Middle East and North Africa region. Fresh date fruit from Israel are required to undergo phytosanitary inspection and in-transit cold treatment.
