Inspection arrangements changing for imported fresh produce from NZ and the USA from 1 May 2020
Effective from 11 March 2020From 1 May 2020 the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment will no longer be providing offshore pre-shipment inspections (OPI) for horticultural fresh produce exports from New Zealand and the United States.
The department will continue to process consignments cleared under OPI on or before 30 April 2020. Consignments cleared under OPI must arrive in Australia by 30 June 2020.
From 1 July 2020, all consignments will need to be presented to the department for on-arrival verification.
