Changes to approved countries for captive non-human primates

Effective from 15 January 2020

The department has determined that Singapore Zoological Gardens (Singapore Zoo) cannot be considered free of evidence of tuberculosis in accordance with Australia’s import requirements for captive non-human primates for the period 1 January 2016 to 19 May 2019. As a result, the department will not issue import permits for relevant species where this requirement cannot be met.

Zoo species for which import requirements do not require premises freedom from tuberculosis, or that require tuberculosis freedom only in the same species as the animal for import, remain eligible for import.
