Pre-shipment fumigation requirement for fresh persimmons from the United States of America
Effective from 28 June 2019The department has applied a mandatory pre-shipment methyl bromide fumigation requirement for fresh persimmons from the United States of America (US).
Fresh persimmons must be fumigated with methyl bromide prior to shipment at one of the following rates:

Note: Fumigation is not permitted if the ambient minimum temperature falls below 10 °C.
This requirement commences from 1 August 2019. Phytosanitary certificates for fresh persimmon from the US, with certification dates from 1 August 2019, will require evidence that they have been fumigated at one of the required schedules.
