Removal of CropFume systems approach for fresh oranges and mandarins from the USA

Effective from 20 September 2019

From 1 October 2019, the Department of Agriculture will remove the systems approach using CropFume as a pest risk management measure for managing bean thrips (Caliothrips fasciatus) on fresh oranges and mandarins for human consumption from the United States of America.

From 1 October 2019, the available pest risk management measures for managing bean thrips on fresh oranges and mandarins from the United States of America will include options of phosphine or methyl bromide fumigation as specified in BICON.
