A review has been completed for the uncanned, unretorted meat BICON case which has resulted in changes to import conditions.

Who does this alert affect:
Importers of unretorted meat products (excluding retorted goods), Inspections Group and Assessment Services Group.

Background:
The case has been re-named ‘unretorted meat’ and will now incorporate pathways for Jerky and biltong for personal use.
Existing pathways have been streamlined and simplified. Importers will also be directed to alternative BICON cases that may be applicable to the goods they wish to import.
