Changes to import conditions for fresh garlic bulbs for human consumption, effective 1 September

Effective from 9 July 2019

From 1 September 2019, a valid import permit is required for all consignments of fresh garlic bulbs for human consumption, arriving into Australia. Fresh garlic bulbs imported without a permit from 1 September 2019 will be subject to export or destruction.

All goods must continue to meet the import conditions listed in the departments Biosecurity Import Conditions database (BICON) and those listed on the import permit.

Importers of fresh garlic bulbs for human consumption, Inspection Services Group, Assessment Group.
