Case: Finfish for human consumption Effective: 16 Feb 2017 to 23 Feb 2017

Case Description

This case describes the requirements for the importation of finfish for human consumption only.

For the import of canned or retorted finfish, please refer to the BICON case retorted goods for human consumption.

Please note that this case only applies to the finfish component of composite products. If you are importing a composite product, you must search BICON for each individual ingredient to determine the conditions that apply.

This commodity or species may be subject to the Australian Government Department of the Environment legislation under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and flora (CITES). Commodities/species known to be, or considered to be covered by CITES will be referred to the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (Customs and Border Protection) on arrival to Australia, in addition to their need to satisfy biosecurity import conditions.
