Case Description

This case describes the requirements for the importation of highly refined organic chemicals and substances for all uses other than as animal foods, fertilisers or for growing purposes. This case includes items such as acetone, alcohols, amino acids, varnish, sulphur compounds, dyes, insecticides or paraffin.

The only products derived from a fermentation process covered by this case are: alcohols, vitamins and amino acids. For all other products derived from a fermentation process e.g. citric acid; antibiotics, please refer to the relevant BICON cases.
