Case: Salmonid fish for human consumption Effective: 25 Sep 2021 to 01 Oct 2021

Case Description

This case describes the requirements for the importation of salmonid fish for human consumption only. This includes all ‘atlantic’ (Salmo spp.) and ‘pacific’ (Oncorhynchus spp.) species of salmon and trout. A full list of species is contained within the case.

For the import of salmon roe please refer to the BICON case Fish roe and caviar for human consumption.

For the import of non-salmonid fish species please refer to the BICON case Finfish for human consumption.

For the import of retorted finfish, please refer to the BICON case Retorted goods for human consumption.

Please note that this case only applies to the finfish component of composite products. If you are importing a composite product, you must search BICON for each individual ingredient to determine the conditions and apply for an import permit via the ‘other’ pathway within this case.
